My Inspiration

Seeing Josephine Bonaparte’s collection of botanical illustrations in France painted by Pierre Joseph Redoute, I was inspired to paint my own. Every aspect of a flower is interesting to me as well as leaves and branches. Movement in a painting and color catch the eye and make a puzzle for the onlooker. Marc Chagall and Henri Rousseau caught eternal escapism which I love to create in my own paintings. Animals are so expressive and bring such joy to their beautiful surroundings. Painting monkeys or animals with flowers or trees brings me such pleasure.

My commissions have included floral murals, animal murals, Persian paintings for a restaurant, paintings for local designers, and floral watercolors. I will work in watercolor, oil and acrylic and am very good at implementing any requests.
